Top 4 Things I Love About the 4th of July — No. 4 Is BBQ

The Fourth of July has a lot of my favorite things so I thought I would do a quick list as we get ready for the holiday.

There a lot of things I like about the Fourth of July, but one of my favorite things is BBQ. Whether you are grilling or slow cooking, BBQ always seems to put a smile of peoples faces. Some of my favorite things to BBQ are baby back ribs and pork shoulder, but hot dogs can be great on the 4th also.

If you are making pulled pork sandwiches, try this idea. First you need the right sauce, and you can make it yourself. Google "Texas Jack BBQ Sauce", follow the recipe, and use it on your sandwich. It doesn't take that long to make and is one of the best sauces I have ever tasted. Then put a thin layer of Cole slaw on the meat and then slice up some jalapenos and lay those on top. It adds just the right amount of kick and crunch...trust me, it's bomb!
