Vince Vaughn and Wife Kyla Welcome a Son
Congrats are in order for Vince Vaughn and wife Kyla, who had their second baby, a son, earlier this week.
Weighing 8 lbs., 4 oz., Vernon Lindsay Vaughn — named after his paternal grandfather — was born near Los Angeles on Wednesday, Aug. 7, Vince’s rep confirmed to PEOPLE. The infant joins big sister Locklyn, 2.
“The whole family is so excited to welcome this sweet boy into the world,” a family friend said. “I am sure Vince will have Vernon out on the ball field in no time!”
Two children in less than three years may seem like a lot, but just before Vince, 43, and Kyla, 34, married in 2010, Vaughn admitted he was happy to put his bachelor days behind him and was looking forward to fatherhood.
“I’ve been very fortunate in my career, and my life has been about that for so long that you get bored of it. You’re ready for your life to be about other people and other things,” he said, adding, “It’s the first time that I really want to have kids.”
