During Monday night's (May 9) episode of The Voice, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani performed their brand-new duet, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart."

With each band member standing on their own raised platforms onstage, Shelton began the uptempo love song from atop a platform of his own at center stage. Just before the first chorus, Stefani stepped onstage -- onto the same platform as Shelton -- to offer harmonies before tackling the second verse on her own.

Throughout their performance, the cameras switched between Shelton and Stefani. The country star could be seen (rather adorably) mouthing the words during his girlfriend's verse, while the pop star grinned as her boyfriend performed and played guitar. At the end of the song, the two shared a hug as the stage went dark. Press play on the video above to watch the performance.

“Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is one of 15 songs on Shelton’s upcoming new album, If I’m Honest, which is set for release on May 20. Stefani is Shelton’s team mentor during this season of The Voice.

“As different as we are musically, we’re a fan of the same type of songs,” Shelton explains. “We have these playlists that we send each other that are stuff that we loved growing up, and they’re so similar, so I think it made it easy for us to collaborate.”

He adds, “The song’s important to us, and the fact that we wrote it together is so important to both of us.”

“Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is available for download on iTunes.
