Apparently anywhere farm goods are transported to the ocean is called a "port" -- hence the "Port of Sunnyside" signs you see driving north to Yakima. Now a new port is scheduled to appear in the Mid Columbia.

Trucks from farms would drive to the Horn Rapids Industrial Park where the goods would be loaded onto trains bound for actual ports in the Puget Sound. This would speed up the time it takes to harvest a food and then put it on someone's table.

If it goes through, a lot of new jobs would be created.
