I grew up in Pasco and when I was small I remember an Asian man who rode around on a three-wheeled trike and if you stopped him, he'd give you candy. I don't remember where he lived or what he did for a living, but he was a beloved member of our community. It's funny to think he wouldn't be allowed to hand out candy today!
There's a sliver of open space near the Pasco Farmer's Market behind Viera's Bakery that has been officially named "Peanuts Park." It warms my heart every time I drive past and think about a simple man who made such an impression on the community.
