Who Steals Major Electrical Boxes and Breakers? These Guys Did

Kennewick police continue to search for thieves who made off with some not so common electrical boxes that left several businesses on Grandridge Boulevard without power, even into Sunday.

Police say somebody, during the night, cut electrical lines, then removed the circuit breakers from the electrical boxes. Rue 21, Best Buy, Catherines, AAA and Salon Services and Supplies were said to be affected.

People have been known to steal copper wire and other copper accessories for recycling value, but circuit breakers is unusual.

Police say the type of breakers were not a common or well used model, but were not rare. Some say they're surprised the suspect(s) did not get electrocuted removing the parts. Anyone with any information is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
