A Yakima man was shot by police after he pulled a gun on an officer during a disturbance call this weekend. Just after 5pm last Friday, Yakima police received a call about a disturbance and when they arrived they saw two men fighting in the front yard. News reports say that one of the men pulled out a handgun and the officer returned fire killing the man. The second man was not injured and neither was the officer.

The Yakima Police Department is investigating whether this was a justified homicide. One witness said they say the officer enter through a half open garage door and then heard three shots. After she heard the shots, she then saw police fully open the garage. Both the identity of the officer and the suspect that was killed are not released at this time because of the investigation.
