Are Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant Making Us Ruder?
"Alexa, what the hell?"
Hey pal, mind your manners.
Of course, you're never under pressure to say "please" to a digital assistant, but is that making us more impolite overall? BYU researchers investigated, and found that using a digital assistant like Siri or Alexa isn't making adult humans ruder to other humans...yet.
It's because digital assistants, as they are now, are not personified enough by adult users to affect human-to-human interactions.
However, this may not be the case with children-- this has already prompted both Google and Amazon to make adjustments to their digital assistants, with both now having features that thank and compliment a user when they ask for something politely
Researchers think as artificial intelligence starts to look and act more human, we'll all change how we interact with it
