He was a fan favorite. In 10 years (maybe less), Richard Sherman will make his return to Seattle to have his name lifted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor to the adulation of fans. Even now, a lot of Seahawks fans can't resent the now-division rival because of what he means to the team's history. But what he's done off the field might mean more to his legacy.

The 4-time Pro Bowler is often well-regarded for his thoughtfulness and giving back to the community. That's exactly what Sherman did this week. Upon hearing that a California-based Pop Warner football team couldn't afford to make the trip to Florida for the National Youth Championship, Sherm took action. The total cost for the trip would have been around $15,000.

One of the qualifications players have to meet for eligibility is good grades. Players must maintain a GPA of at least 3.10. Apparently this is what caught Sherman's attention, and he promptly took to Twitter to ask around for more information.

Richard's donation put the team over their goal, and as of Monday afternoon, they've hit over $24,000. Other NFL players from the California area volunteered their help as well.
