Kennewick Robbery Suspect Buys Item Then Demands Money
A late-night robbery in Kennewick has police looking for a suspect who bought an item and then demanded cash out of the register.
The incident occurred on Saturday at the Rocket Mart on 5304 West Canal Drive in Kennewick.
Kennewick Police filed the report of an armed robbery in a press release:
The caller (store clerk) advised that a white or Hispanic male approximately 5'5 - 5'7 came into the store, produced a handgun, and demanded money out of the register while purchasing an item. The clerk complied with the suspect and was unharmed.
The suspect fled the location on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was said to be wearing dark clothing with a balaclava style facemask on. The KPD K-9 conducted a track, but the suspect was not located.
KPD is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.

Obviously, the suspect knew that if you buy an item, the cash drawer comes open so they thought it was their best opportunity to smash and grab.
