The Oregon Department of Transportation has been busy trying to fight all the snow that's fallen recently.

MANY OREGON HIGHWAYS CLOGGED--SOME CLOSED

These images were provided by the Oregon DOT, most of them working on Oregon Highway 11, a much-traveled two-lane road from Stateline Milton-Freewater to Pendleton.   One image captured a semi that was blown over by the gusty winds.

Oregon officials say to be careful when traveling, especially if you're not familiar with the area. A number of drivers using GPS have been led onto closed or remote roads and gotten stuck. We all know GPS doesn't 'think' like a person, just tries the shortest route.

Also, make sure you give plenty of distance when there are snowplows on the highways. Since December 24th, there have been ten crashes between motorists and Oregon DOT plow trucks.

As long as the storms continue to dump snow throughout Eastern and Central Oregon, the DOT offers some trip advice and information:
