Death, taxes, Tom Brady playing in the Super Bowl.

I remember watching Tom Brady win his first Super Bowl when I was eight-years-old. My daughter turns three next month and will have seen two Tom Brady Super Bowls by Sunday. The longevity of this man is just absurd and tiring for most fans.

Now before you relegate yourself to yet again rooting against Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, may I provide a counterpoint. Root for the Buccaneers.

Unless you're a Kansas City Chiefs fan, you should be hoping Tampa takes home the Lombardi Trophy this Sunday. There are four Buccaneers that went to college in Washington state while Kansas City offers no local representation. This is the best way to enjoy the game as a local with no dogs in this fight.

There are 33 former Huskies in the NFL. Seattle has four of them and Tampa Bay has three of them. Only one of ten active former Cougars in the league are playing in the Super Bowl, also for Tampa Bay. No Central Washington Wildcats or Eastern Washington Eagles are currently in the show.

If rooting for the "hometown" boys isn't good enough for you, you can't get behind a Brady-led team being 3 point underdogs, or you don't care that the Bucs are the first team in Super Bowl history to host a title game in their own stadium, then I can't help you.

If, however, you're sold on the idea of rooting for some Huskies (can WSU fans do it?) and a Cougar, then let's get you acquainted.
