I grew up in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley, but for six years of my life I was a foster kid and lived at the confluence of the Grand Ronde River on the border of the Washington/Oregon border. The Horse Heaven Hills were aflame Sunday night -- just beyond my backyard on Byron Road in Prosser. My wife shot some photos of the out-of-control wildfire. I'm a Washington native, and I've always lived near a few fires but never have I seen a fire this close up.
