You may have heard, I went to San Antonio last week to pick my son up from Air Force basic training. I couldn't believe the stuff that happened to me and I gotta say, the bed bugs thing came full circle.
I'm pretty good at vacationing so I've enjoyed almost everywhere I've been. If there's one place that's definitely a tourist trap, however, it's Times Square. Again, I still enjoyed it, but I couldn't believe everything closed at 9 p.m. That's so damn early! Tell-tale sign of a tourist trap: it's only open for the tourist buses. What advice would you give travelers?
So we finally jumped in feet first and booked a trip to a tropical paradise -- or so I am told -- Belize. We booked our trip for 7 nights at the Portofino Beach Resort in San Pedro Belize. We're going in March, which is in the 'High' / Dry season. The Portofino is a boutique resort with just 17 cabanas and a mansion, which can be rented for large groups.
