Besides the usual menu of barbeques, lawn work, projects and more,  take some time this Monday and honor our veterans, past and present.

My dad kept a Washington state flag from his service in Vietnam. There's a cool story that goes along with it and now the flag and its story is on display at the Federal Building in Richland! Check out what it says:

Everybody forgets about vets -- especially Vietnam. It pisses me off that some people even say nasty things about the soldiers who served there. Not this guy. Mike Bowen of Flushing, Michigan, was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. When he visited the war memorial in Washington, D.C. in 1982 he was so moved he decided to do something to honor all 58,292 men and women killed or missing. R

This Sunday is Veterans Day and various restaurants are giving away free food to honor those who have served or are serving in the military. Most establishments will require some form of Military ID including...
