Take Your Kids on a FREE Butterfly Field Trip the Next 3 Weekends

The The Xerces Society is putting on free field trips the next three Saturdays where you can experience family-friendly training on how to help local butterflies at different Oregon Wildlife Refuges.

"Bring the family and join the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Xerces Society for this hands-on, family-friendly training on what steps you can take to help conserve monarch butterflies and their habitat."

The first field trip is this weekend (Saturday, June 16th, 2018 | 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM PDT) at the Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon.

Participants will learn about the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly and learn what they need. You will learn how to identify the milkweed species, what they feed on, and what makes good habitat. You will also learn how to make a garden that can support Monarch butterflies, and learn how to participate in citizen science projects.

There is no cost, but you have to pre-register and space is limited.

If you can't make the workshop this weekend, there are two more but they are farther away.
