At one time, there were two gigantic concrete arena domes in the Northwest.

It's hard to imagine that it's been 17 years since its destruction, but its implosion still is a must-see video of the day.

The Seattle Kindome was eventually replaced by today's Safeco Field and CenturyLink Field, where the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks, respectively, play their home games.

I remember taking my son Logan to a few baseball games in the old Kingdome before its implosion. He was about 4 and all he really wanted to do was see the fireworks after Mariners every home run.

The Seattle Kingdome came down March 26, 2000, and made the Guinness Book Of World Records for the largest building, by volume, to ever be demolished.

I really enjoy the new venues, but there is a little nostalgic tear in my eye, remembering the old Seattle Kingdome.
