A 17 year old is very lucky to be alive after street racing at speeds over 90 miles per hour and slamming into a school bus near the corner of South Elm at East A Street in Pasco.

The school bus was turning onto A street with no students on-board around 2:30 pm. The bus driver checked down the street and saw two white cars way down the street before he turns.

The two white cars were allegedly street racing at over 90 miles an hour giving the bus driver much less time to turn onto A street then he thought. The bus driver said he had no idea the cars were moving so fast when he pulled out.

One of the two racing cars, a white car in the outside lane, managed to just miss the bus but the driver of a white 1997 could not stop and crashed into the bus.

The skid marks were 187 feet long before slamming into the bus at a high rate of speed.

The white Civic was pealed on the top and sides like a banana as the car slid under the bus.

Amazingly, the 17 year old driver of the Civic escaped with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The 17 year old driver of the Civic was charged with Reckless Driving, No Valid Operator's License 1st Degree and No Proof of Insurance.

If you have any information about this case including info about the other driver, please contact Pasco police at (509)545-3421 about case PP18-54754 Reckless Driving.
