Chelsea Handler is leaving late-night behind. After two seasons of Netflix experimenting with her late-night talk show format, Chelsea is confirmed to shut down while its title host concentrates on activism and documentary filmmaking.

Handler shared the news over Twitter, clarifying that she made the choice to end Chelsea after Season 2 wraps later this year. The late-night host and comedian will continue her documentary relationship with Netflix, but otherwise “devote as much time as I can to becoming a more knowledgeable and engaged citizen and to focus on projects that have significance to me.” You can read the full statement below:

In addition to Chelsea and the above-mentioned documentary, Handler also hosts the docu-series Chelsea Does. The second season of Chelsea had also notably changed up the series’ format; switching to one weekly hour-long episode over three half-hour episodes.

Netflix is still keen to pursue the talk show format with other projects like Bill Nye Saves the World, but will we miss Chelsea after the comedian moves on to more topical activism?
