I Tried Online Grocery Delivery For The First Time This Weekend And I’m Like Wow!
I don't know if you are blessed with two running vehicles (congrats) but my husband and I have been maneuvering both of our jobs with one vehicle. So when this weekend rolled around and I FINALLY had nothing really to do I said take it! Then I looked in the fridge and realized we don't really have anything to eat. Hmmmm do I walk to the store, no! Do I take the bus to the store? NO! I went online and started doing online shopping research.
Safeway is closest to me so I google them first and bam! They offer delivery and to my apartment! Score :) I chose to get groceries for two meals this week. One my tried and true Turkey Chili and a new dish Banh Mi Rice Bowls. They didn't have the vermicelli noodles I was looking for and for some reason I couldn't find a green jalepeno pepper so I had to write that one in but the whole process was so cool! I even found a coupon online CLICK HERE to save an extra 20%.
Once the order was accepted the process was pretty simple. I could watch as the assigned shopper ticked off the items I was looking for. They couldn't find the brownie mix I requested but replaced it with something just as delicious. The jalapeno I had to write in was accepted and for some reason the order of one avocado turned into four but NO complaints over here because the price didn't go up! I did forget a lime but overall this was the FUNNEST shopping experience I have ever had. I was able to clean up the kitchen AND do laundry while waiting for my order and then it was go time! :)

Curious about my Turkey Chili? I was given this recipe by my sister-in-law Brooke, who got it from the 30 Day Fix and I have to tell you this chili just gets better and better!
Here's the recipe:
- One pound lean ground Turkey
- Two cans of dark red kidney beans
- One can of fire roasted tomatoes
- One yellow or white onion
- one green bellpepper
- one red bell pepper
- two cloves of garlic
- chicken stock
- coconut oil
- red pepper flakes
- garlic powder
- cayenne pepper
- chili powder
- purple onion
In a large pot drop two tablespoons of coconut oil (you could use butter or olive oil but honestly something about that coconut oil really works) on medium heat then chop up your onion and let it simmer for about 3 minutes until the onion starts to look clear. If it's cooking too fast just turn the burner down. Throw in two cloves of minced garlic and after a minute or so drop in the chopped red and green bell pepper. While that is sizzling away drop your turkey into a non-stick pan and cook it slowly breaking up the meat and getting it past pink but still right there because after it's cooked take it all the juices and everthing and dump it into your pot. Next I take a little bit of the top juice out of both kidney bean cans and dump those in along with the entire can of tomatoes then use the tomatoe can and fill it up with the chicken stock and dump that in as well. Now you can turn that sucker up to boil and start adding all your spices in.
I honestly dump a good amount of each spice in mix it up and then let it simmer for two hours or at least an hour. Before serving I dump another round of seasoning in and hit it with the tapatio! Something about those spices slowly simmering gives it this awesome heat that takes you to the edge but just keeps you warm doesn't smack you :) And those kidney beans, never thought I would LOVE kidney beans but this turkey chili is heaven! The beans are so creamy :)
My favorite toppers are cheese, cilantro, purple onion, radishes, a dollop of sour cream, avocado one more splash of tapatio. You could eat it without any of those things but if you got the sides I say load that sucker up!

Happy Monday. Good Luck with the week and happy grocery shopping!
