Pasco Police arrested a Kennewick man last night after an altercation with a 12-year-old boy. The 12-year-old boy allegedly stole money from another kid and pushed them into a wall. The Kennewick man responded, chased the boy, and allegedly grabbed and chocked him.

According to a police report filed by the Pasco Police, here is how the incident went down:

Officers investigated a disturbance on Friday evening 042321 at about 7:50 PM at an apartment complex on Chapel Hill Blvd after a caller reported a man in the parking lot assaulting a boy. They were able to locate the people involved, and no serious injuries were noted.

After talking to witnesses, ID’ing people involved, and checking physical evidence, officers wrote up a 12-year-old boy for allegedly stealing money from another child, then choking and pushing the child against a wall.

Paperwork for Assault Second Degree will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor. Jared Ames Ezell, DOB 092090 of Kennewick, is alleged to have witnessed this, then to have chased the boy outside and to have choked and grabbed him. He was booked into Franklin County Jail on an investigative hold for Assault of a Child Second Degree.

Pasco Police stated that two wrongs don't make it a right but I think it would be tough not to want to grab the kid myself but it's illegal. The best thing you can do in those situations is to call the police.
