Kennewick police arrested Dale Thomas LaGrande this morning after searching his home and finding an item stolen from the Radio Tri-Cities Transmitter site.

The warrant was obtained as a result of information received in connection with the fire. LaGrande is considered a person of interest in that investigation, which is ongoing.

Police did not say what the item recovered was, but said it was stolen from the transmitter site some time prior to the fire. The press release estimated Nov. 15.

LaGrande has been booked into Benton County Jail charged with possession of stolen property in the 2nd degree.

The fire at the transmitter site cause thousands of dollars in damage and forced at least two radio stations off the air for several hours.

Graffiti at the transmitter site suggests the vandalism was done in retaliation for the death of a man shot by police earlier this year. The shooting was ruled justified after an investigation.
