Wednesday, March 13, you have a chance to voice YOUR opinion on the proposed aquatic center.

After lengthy discussions over the last 18 months -- and a change of proposed location -- the Tri-Cities Regional Public Facilities District wants to hear the public's thoughts on a proposed aquatic center from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Kennewick City Hall chambers on 6th Ave. Details about the proposed facility will be made public, and citizens will be encouraged to give opinions.

Just as important, the facility would be funded by a .1 percent sales tax increase in the Tri-Cities that would be put before voters later this year, probably November. Reports indicate the center would include a diverse number of pools and activities that would allow for year-round use.
