We're sad to report that one fan has died from an incident that took place at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. A 24-year-old woman from Oakland, Ca. was hospitalized last weekend after an apparent overdose and passed away Thursday afternoon.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the victim had overdosed on drugs or alcohol while attending the festival. She collapsed and was treated by on-site medical staff. The victim was then rushed to the JFK Memorial Hospital at Indio, California where the festival was taking place. She was then transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where she remained until she died about 2:30 p.m. PT Thursday.

"We believe this to be an unfortunate but isolated incident," Goldenvoice, the promoter of the show, said in a statement. "Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends."

The annual music fest celebrated the first weekend of events in Indio, California last week. The second weekend began Friday and ends today, Sunday Apr. 20, which will mark the last day of the 2014 festival. Big name artists such as Lorde, Ellie Goulding, Zedd, Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams and dozens of other singers and bands have already performed to rave reviews.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the woman's family and friends.
