2016 MTV Video Music Awards Winners List
The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards is here so get ready for plenty of surprises and sizzling hot music performances at the star-studded event.
Beyonce, who is set to perform at tonight's show, garnered the most nominations with 11 mentions for her visual album, Lemonade. Among the R&B superstar’s nods include Best Female Video for “Hold Up” and Video of the Year for “Formation.”
Other nominees include Adele with eight nominations, while Drake nabbed six mentions, including Best Hip-Hop Video for "Hotline Bling." Pop superstars Ariana Grande and Rihanna snagged five and four nods, respectively.
As far as performances, Rihanna will open the MTV VMAs with a performance that's "going to be one of those holy crap VMA moments." In addition, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande will team up to perform “Side to Side” and Britney Spears and G-Eazy will perform their duet, “Make Me.” Rappers Future and Ty Dolla $ign are also on the bill.
Also, look out for two special VMAs moments. First, Rihanna will be presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in honor of her 10-year impact in the music, fashion and film worlds, as well as her philanthropic endeavors.
And finally, Kanye West will have four minutes to do whatever he wants to do onstage. If you are familiar with Yeezy's past history at the VMAs, then you know that he isn’t afraid to say what's on his mind. So brace yourself.
Overall, it’s going to be a wild night.
