Our list is going to be a little bigger this week! Former WSU QB Luke Falk made his first NFL start on Sunday & because I'm a dumb-dumb, I forgot about Cooper Kupp, the pride of Yakima. For the most part, our local gridiron heroes looked pretty good in week 3. Let's take a deeper look.

For the second straight week, the Detroit Lions kept Matthew Stafford on his feet. As a fan of the Browns, I have o-line envy. Plus, Joe Dahl had a sweet spike after Kerryon Johnson handed him the ball.

Born in Prosser

The 'Boys stayed hot on offense against Miami this week. Granted, they were playing an all-time terrible team, but that shouldn't diminish what the offense was able to accomplish. Dallas had two running backs rush for over 100 yards, with Tony Pollard averaging nearly 8 yards per carry. Ezekiel Elliot had another Ezekiel Elliot game with 125 rush yards. The Cowboys outgained the Dolphins with 476 total yards. They also allowed only one sack and had one turnover.

Outside of a big game from Hard Knocks star Darren Waller, there's not a lot of good things to say about the Raiders offense. Waller hauled in 13 of 14 targets for 134 yards. Derrek Carr was pretty accurate but wasn't able to overcome the lack of running game and sacks given up. At least Kirk Cousins "liked that." Losing by 20 is never fun.

Gardner Minshew - Quarterback - Jacksonville Jaguars

WSU

The legend grows. It's as if Gardner Minshew was born to quarterback specifically the Jaguars. He is the ultimate Florida Man, and the Sunshine State loves themselves some Gardner Minshew. The lights weren't too bright for Minshew on Thursday Night Football, he quickly had two touchdown passes in the first quarter. He should have had 3 on the night if not for an egregious drop by Dede Westbrook. Minshew was very accurate with his arm - there were a few more drops on well-placed balls, but he also made plays with his feet. With adult websites offering him endorsement deals, it's apparent the mania has transcended the football field.

Luke Falk - Quarterback - New York Jets

WSU

If the Gardner Minshew hype-train has sprouted rockets and is about to blast off into the stratosphere, the Luke Falk hype-train has come to a screeching halt. It was BAD. In their biannual obliteration of the lowly New York Jets, Luke Falk was offered up as a sacrifice to the New England Patriots. The lone highlight for the former WSU QB was meeting his idol. Touted as a meeting of quarterbacks picked at number 199 in their respective drafts, it was evident Luke Falk still has a long way to go. He was sacked 5 times, completed 54% of his passes, was intercepted, and didn't cross 100 yards passing. It was a far cry from his debut against Cleveland on Monday Night Football last week. The Jets touchdowns both came on defense after New England rested their starters.

Cooper Kupp - Wide Reciever - Los Angeles Rams

Born and raised in Yakima. Drafted out of Eastern Washington University.

As much as it pains me to say it, Cooper Kupp was the best player on the field last night against my Browns. He had only one drop, catching 11 of 12 balls thrown his way. When the rest of the Rams offense looked stagnant, Kupp was wide open. He found the endzone twice and was instrumental in the win for LA on Sunday Night Football. But what else is new?
