A 9 year old Richland boy identified as Zaydan Melvin was taken to the hospital after the driver in the car he was riding in fell asleep and crashed near Coulee City. The driver, 28 year old Allysha Melvin, was driving about 17 miles north of Coulee City in the afternoon when she fell asleep and rolled her Hyundai according to news reports. Two other small children were not injured in the crash and everyone was wearing seat belts.

The State Patrol says Allysha Melvin will likely face a charge for second-degree negligent driving.
