A Kennewick man is in jail after rolling a stolen vehicle Thursday morning.

34-year old Alexander Edwards faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, suspicion of Driving Under the Influence and Driving with a Suspended License.

Witnesses say Edwards was speeding and driving erratically in the stolen City of Richland vehicle before rolling and crashing it on I-82 at Coffin Road. Benton County Sheriff's Deputies and Washington State Patrol Troopers responded to the crash just after 5 am.

Troopers estimate Edwards was traveling at approximately 80 mph when he lost control. Edwards was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for his injuries. However, Edwards fled the hospital on foot.

That's when Kennewick Police were called in to assist in locating Edwards.

When Officers made contact with Edwards near Hildebrand and Canyon Lakes Drive, he failed to comply. Officers then used a taser to take Edwards into custody.

Edwards was transported again to the hospital to be cleared before booking and for a blood sample to be taken to demonstrate his level of impairment in the roll-over crash.

Edwards was booked into the Benton County Jail. Along with DUI, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Driving with a Suspended License, he's also charged with Resisting Arrest.
