Everyone is abuzz over Beyonce's new surprise album, but there's one major retailer who won't be offering it to their customers: Target.

According to Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski, "At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections."

"While there are many aspects that contribute to our approach and we have appreciated partnering with Beyonce in the past, we are primarily focused on offering CDs that will be available in a physical format at the same time as all other formats," she added.

She then concluded that for all these reasons, "At this time, Target will not be carrying Beyonce's new self-titled album 'Beyonce.'"

Considering the sales figures, this sounds like this could be a terrible idea. In fact, it's the fastest selling album worldwide on iTunes -- not to mention that Bey has previously teamed up with the retailer for exclusive editions of her CDs and even appeared in commercials.

The majority of retailers will receive physical copies of the album on Dec. 20, with certain stores receiving shipments on Dec. 18.

Meanwhile, Walmart released a statement saying they are "happy to be able to carry her album and support all physical music." Although, as per their policy, it will be the non-explicit version only.
