A 21-year old Burbank man is in custody after an alleged early morning assault on Tuesday in Pasco.

Dezmend Kellee Slind allegedly confronted a victim, who he's currently restrained from having contact, and another male in the 2700 block of West Hopkins Street at about 1 am.

Slind is accused of assaulting both and allegedly stabbed the male with a screwdriver before he fled the scene.  The male victim's injury was non-life-threatening.

When police arrived, they located the screwdriver and talked with witnesses.

Shortly after 2:30 am, the male victim called police to report that Slind returned to the residence, and ran off again.

Police searched the neighborhood area with a K9 but were not successful in locating Slind.

Just after 4 am, a neighbor reported that his dog was barking at one of the garbage cans on his property.

When officers arrived at the house, they found Slind hiding inside the trash can.

Slind followed orders and was taken into custody without incident.

Slind was arrested and booked into Franklin County Jail.  He's charged with Assault and a Felony Order Violation.
