Actress Cameron Diaz stole a lot of hearts when she burst onto the screen with Jim Carrey in The Mask. She made us laugh uncontrollably opposite Ben Stiller in There's Something About Mary. And she thrilled us alongside Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Lieu in Charlie's Angels.
Now she hopes you enjoy a good Chardonnay as much as she does, and taste the same crisp notes that were special enough... unique enough... for her to team-up with Richland Winery, Tagaris. She says it's all about the grapes. And in this case, the Chardonnay is described as "tart notes of green apple, white peach, and a smooth, nutty finish."
Wine is a relatively new venture for Diaz, who founded Avaline with fashion entrepreneur Katherine Power in 2020. The brand differentiates itself from competitors by being free of synthetic pesticides, no added sugars, no concentrate... Everything you need to know is right there on the label, for instance: Organic grapes (certified organic by WSDA), sulfites (93ppm), yeast, and yeast nutrients.
Tagaris is proud of the collaboration with the power-duo, and Avaline must be pleased as well, because the new Chardonnay is not some special one-off release, it's part of their growing list of organic-friendly wines that Avaline members can subscribe to.
Most Chardonnay's pair well with Seafood, so if you order a bottle, maybe pair it with some crab cakes or grilled salmon. Or perhaps a dessert, like rice pudding. And then find a good Cameron Diaz movie on your streaming service; I recommend 2002's The Sweetest Thing, which is not referenced enough for as funny as it is. I suppose a cozy romance like The Holiday would work, too. Happy drinking.
