Courthouse Lets 3rd Rapist Escape Custody Before Sentencing
It is a shocking story and it happened yet again at the Benton County Courthouse last Friday in Kennewick, when an alleged child rapist fled from the courthouse just before the judge was about to deliver the verdict in the case!
The defendant William George Nicol who is accused of sexually abusing a young boy for years... an allegation Nicol denies. Nicol apparently told his attorney he had to use the restroom and that is when he simply walked out of the courthouse!
Nicol has been out on $10,000 bail and the case had been heard by a jury who were about to deliver the verdict in the case. He subsequently was convicted of two counts of first-degree child rape and one count of first-degree child molestation. Currently the U.S. Marshals Service is helping the Benton County Sheriff’s Office search for him and he is considered a fugitive.
More shocking is this has happened on two separate occasions in the last 2 years!
