Did Suspect Bust Own Windows During Theft? Whoops!
This would be a great big whoops! Often times, criminals are apprehended because of the 'slightest' of clues. Deputies hoping that's the case here.
Benton County Deputies are investigating the theft of equipment from Tri-City Rock products location at the south end of Olympia, just off Highway 397 Thursday afternoon.
Officials say it's likely the suspect broke out one or more of their OWN windows in the attempt to load the stolen equipment. What they took was not disclosed. But investigators say a lot of broken dark tinted window glass was found at the scene, in one general area, and it didn't match any other vehicle there. It had not been there earlier in the day.
In addition, a truck driver who was at the lot said he saw a large white 4-door SUV with dark tinted windows and chrome rims parked at the site around 4:50PM. He'd thought it looked a little out of place. Company officials reported the theft took place sometime between 4 and 5PM, when it was discovered at closing time.
Anyone with any information is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential. We're pretty sure local body and auto glass shops have been alerted about this one.
