Extra Patrols Being Conducted to Nab Lead Foot Drivers

Franklin County Deputies are looking for you...if you're speeding!

Franklin County Deputies are out and about on extra patrols looking for lead-footed drivers. The extra patrols have been requested by citizens in various areas throughout the county so be aware that extra patrols could mean a ticket for you if you are caught speeding.

According to statistics provided by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, speeding endangers everyone on the road and contributed to over 26% of all traffic fatalities in Washington State in 2017 alone.

Speeding also reduces the effectiveness of the occupant protection equipment in a crash, increases stopping distances when a driver perceives danger and increases the degree of the severity in a crash.

Franklin County Deputies are on extra patrols, so be alert and prepared and slow down.
