Fundraiser for Injured Richland Girl Raises Thousands for Her Care
An injured Richland girl is on her way to recovery after being struck by a truck last Friday afternoon. Trinity Enriquez was getting off a school bus when she was hit by an oncoming truck. Her family has set up a GoFundMe.
Trinity's Aunt Zayna Kinsey started a GoFundMe with an original goal of $10,000. However, now the goal is set for $20,000 as Trinity's mother recently accepted a new job offer. That job is now on hold due to the recent events.
Trinity was crossing the road behind the bus at Spengler Street and Hood Avenue and was hit by an oncoming truck. The bus driver didn't see the accident and continued on the route.
Trinity was found unconscious, but breathing. The accident happened just after 2 pm. The driver of the truck was remained on the scene and cooperated with Richland Police.
Trinity was taken to Kadlec and then flown to Sacred heart Medical Center in Spokane. A craniectomy surgery was done to relieve pressure.
Zayna Kinsey, Trinity's aunt started a GoFundMe with an original goal of $10,000. However, now the goal is set for $20,000 as Trinity's mother recently accepted a new job offer. That job is now on hold. The family has just one income with 5 other kids to care for.
Trinity's mother, Nikki, has expressed her gratitude in a recent Facebook post.
Trinity's doctors are hopeful that she'll make a full recovery. However, the extent of Trinity's injuries won't be known until she is awakened, which is expected to happen sometime this week.
