Trooper Thorson with Washington State Patrol tweeted Monday evening the total for collisions in his patrol area. We've come to a total of 43 collisions, 11 of those being in Yakima, Grandview saw 8 collisions, 16 collisions in the Tri-Cities, and Walla Walla had 8.

He also mentions that driving too fast for the conditions is still the leading cause of crashes. There was more snow in the Yakima region while the Columbia Basin saw a mix of snow and freezing rain on Monday.

Today is turning out to be rather interesting I would say. They were calling for freezing fog but at 4:30 this morning the roads were fairly good. But by 7:30 a.m. we could not even see the Blue Bridge from our Studios and the freezing fog had begun.
