Here’s How the 42nd Annual Lampson Cable Bridge Run Will Work in 2020
Despite the ongoing pandemic, the 42nd annual Lampson Cable Bridge run is happening in 2020 and here's what you need to know.
The Pasco Parks and Recreation Department says participants will be able to choose between an in-person, socially distanced race experience and a virtual race experience.
If you want to hoof it over the bridge, your run will be held on December 19th or December 20th, and you get to opt into the day you would like to beat feet. There will be 1 mile, 5K and 10K races.
Chosen start times will be spread out over the course of several hours that will ensure everyone stays safe, from the runners to the volunteers. No pets will be allowed on either day of the live race.
Go here to register for any of the live runs offered on either day, plus the answers to many frequently asked questions can be found at the bottom of the linked page.
The course will be different, but the 10K and 5K runners will get to run the bridge not once, but TWICE!
VIRTUAL race participants will be able to run 10K, 5K or 1 mile at their convenience between December 17th and December 23rd and post results to the virtual results page.
The run will start and finish at Riverview Park in Pasco (South end of 17th Ave). The 10K route will be an out-and-back west along the river and then join the 5K route which will loop over and back across the Cable Bridge. The 1 mile route will be an out-and-back, turning around near the Cable Bridge. The 1 mile route will not cross the bridge.
Finishers will receive a "to go" prepackaged snack and water bottle.
