The city of Kennewick is now accepting applications for the 2014 Kennewick Citizen’s Academy.

The Kennewick Citizen’s Academy is a free three-night program designed to provide community members with a better understanding of the workings of their local government. The Citizen's Academy covers a wide range of topics, including how the annual budget is developed, how public safety resources are deployed and Council priorities.

According to the city of Kennewick: “The goal of the Citizen’s Academy is to better equip the community to fully participate in the process of building Kennewick's future. It will be an interactive and engaging session to help people find out how they can be more involved in the City”

Here's what you do: Applications for the Kennewick Citizens Academy are available online at www.go2kennewick.com Space is limited to 25 people. The academy will be held Thursdays - October 9th, October 16th, and October 23rd from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm. A full schedule will be provided before the first meeting. Applications must be submitted by October 1st, 2014.
