A 16-year-old was struck in the arm, but not seriously hurt. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. While the search for adult shooters continues, Police also investigated the teens as part of regular procedure.
KPD Finds one of the teens had a gun in their backpack, it was taken to school.
A 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday morning, according to KPD:
" suspicion was developed that a 16-year-old male may have been in possession of a firearm while attending school. Probable cause was also developed for the juvenile for being a felon in possession of a firearm based upon a previous incident."
Detectives and officers contacted the teen's school, and he was removed from the school and the weapon was found in his backpack without being in view of other students. At the time of his arrest around 11 AM Tuesday, April 19th, a loaded handgun was found in his backpack which was on his person at the school.
