Everything New on Netflix in August 2025

August always used to be a time when movie studios got rid of their least promising titles and television networks emptied their archive of unaired pilots. Not anymore. Like so much else in the entertainment business, Netflix has abandoned the historical way of doing things in August. They definitely do not treat it like a month to dump old junk.

In fact, Netflix is releasing arguably its current #1 show in August this year. That would be Wednesday, their update of The Addams Family starring Jenna Ortega in the central role. The first batch of new episodes from Wednesday Season 2 arrives in August, along with a new animated series from the creator of BoJack Horseman, a documentary about the reality behind the reality TV series The Biggest Loser, a new R-rated animated comedy from Genndy Tartakovsky called Fixed, and the film version of The Thursday Murder Club, based on the best-selling book series.
