Joni Sledge Of Sister Sledge Passes Away [VIDEO]

"We Are Family" was the iconic theme of the '70s, thanks to Sister Sledge. Joni Sledge, a founding member, has passed away at age 60.

Sister Sledge was a prime example of the late 1970s disco music craze and the all-female sister band charted several hits like "He's The Greatest Dancer" and the No. 2 Billboard smash "We Are Family."

Joni remained a huge part of touring with her various sisters in Sister Sledge even after the hits stopped coming. Sister Sledge went on to have more hits in the U.K. after their U.S success.

Joni was found dead in her home, according to the band's official statement. No reason was given for her death as she hadn't been ill.
