Kelly Rowland shined at the 3rd annual Essence Black Women in Music event in Los Angeles Wednesday night (Feb. 8). The R&B songbird, along with music industry vet Sylvia Rhone, were honored for their achievements in music.

Rowland looked fabulous on the black carpet in her orange-colored gown and curly locks. She would later change outfits and don a glittery gold jacket and leather shorts for her performance at the illustrious affair. Rowland sang a medley of her hits including Destiny’s Child favorites like ‘Survivor’ and ‘Independent Woman,’ plus her 2011 chart-topper ‘Motivation.’ Rapper Eve made a surprise appearance and joined K.Row onstage for a rendition of ‘Like This.’

Hitmaker Rico Love was on hand to present Rowland an official plaque for selling a million copies of her single ‘Motivation.’ She also received a beautiful glass-like trophy in her honor as well. “To all women out there, God bless you,” said Rowland. “I couldn’t have done this without you.”

Among the celebrities in attendance included fellow DC member Michelle Williams, Ne-Yo and ‘X Factor‘ judge L.A. Reid and Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro.
