The city of Kennewick is using and insurance payout of $910,000 to build a brand new wine tasting room next to the newly completed wine village on Columbia Drive.

The vacant city owned building collapsed last winter from heavy snowfall and is located just adjacent to the new Columbia Gardens Urban Wine and Artisan Village which is set to open in December. The new tasting room is part of phase 2 of redevelopment of the downtown area that the city hope will attract people to that part of town.

The Columbia Gardens Urban Wine and Artisan Village already has tenants whch include: Bartholomew Winery and Monarcha & Palencia Wines and Columbia Basin College's new culinary arts school.
