Lonely Kennewick Street Light Tougher Than Vandal’s Gunfire
A man didn’t like a Kennewick street light. It’s the only reason we can think of as to why he was shooting at it.
The light was hit by gunfire but never went out, according to Kennewick police.
A maroon Chevrolet pickup truck stopped at the intersection of West 16th Avenue and South Garfield Street on Dec. 15. It is where West Park Hills Road becomes West 16th Avenue.
A passenger got out and started shooting at the light with a pistol, according to witnesses.
Officers found broken glass and casings under the light, but it was tougher than the shooter thought and was still working.
Police were not able to find the suspects but hope people who saw them will call with information. To report a crime tip, people can call 509-628-0333.
