The driver of a van was life-flighted to a hospital after a tragic crash near Prosser Thursday morning. The crash between the passenger van and semi happened on I-82 about three miles East of Prosser.

According to WSP Trooper Chris Thorson, it took crews over an hour to successfully extricate the man from the van. He was in serious condition. The semi-driver was not injured.

The collision shut down the eastbound lanes of the highway for quite some time.
