More Storms Threaten More Fire
As if we haven't had enough of weather elements, including hot temperatures, we've also had thunderstorms. Our area remains under an excessive heat warning through Tuesday evening at 9 pm. It's been extremely uncomfortable for most of us to be outdoors. Although we have some relief near area rivers or if you're lucky, at a pool.
According to the National Weather Service, out of Pendleton, more severe storms are possible. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for much of the area until 11 pm. High fire danger continues throughout the region, as gusty winds, and lightning strikes are also possible.
Cooler temperatures are on the way making conditions more tolerable through the weekend.
At this point, anything below 100 degrees is fine with me. I'm just glad to have air conditioning available in most areas. I'm also grateful that I don't live in Death Valley, where meteorologists recorded Sunday's temperature at a 130-degree high.
