The ground breaking for a new military readiness center for the Washington Army National Guard will take place next spring at Horn Rapids Industrial Park!

The giant facility will also serve as a storage unit for armored vehicles. It's a forty-acre area that the military bought from the city of Richland.

There is a budget of over $15 million for the center that will include classrooms, drill floors and a kitchen area.

I'm so excited for what this will mean for the area. Will they want to move here, expanding the beautiful Horn Rapids area? Will they be allowed to go to lunch or dinner here after their exercises, helping the restaurants at White Bluffs Business Complex? How will Richland use the new money from the sale?

Will the soldiers want to come back with their families to play in the river, thereby boosting tourism? I think this is great news.
