I've yet to call 911 (fortunately), and I imagine it would be a stressful experience.

The initial emergency, paired with having to remain calm and relay important (possible life or death details) is daunting.

Indiana has become the first state to use technology that not only lets you text your emergency to 911, but allows operators to text you back if your phone call drops or you hang up.

Could you imagine how much easier it would be for victims? During home intrusions, domestic violence, etc, a victim may be able to get help without arousing suspicion from the assailant, who could get angrier and possibly to worse things.

It's a technology that will most likely be picked up throughout the country.
