Where can I learn to sail in Tri-Cities WA?

I think learning to sail on the Columbia River would be fun! And far less scary.

Tyler and Ean purchased an old Sailboat for $3000.00, fixed it up, and taught themselves to sail. They named it the 'Old and Moldy'

Last year they ventured to Alaska for their first maiden voyage. They had some issues and had to have repairs done but are back at it! This time they are headed to Mexico.

They left Bellingham, Washington October 3rd and have been sailing continuously since. They had no issues through the Strait of San Juan De Fuca and pretty calm weather with little wind to help power the boat, a good part of the trip.

They sleep in shifts with one of them watching and minding the boat continuously.

They now have Starlink internet and cell phones so they can keep us all aware of their adventure. Which, sure helps Tyler's Mom and me feel much more at ease!

They pulled into San Francisco, California yesterday and have posted on Instagram:

Tyler is the one with the long dark hair and Ean is the redhead. They are both quite adventurous taking on such a trip! Luckily so far, it's been fairly smooth sailing!

Tyler's Mom (my best friend of 54 years) will meet them in Santa Barbara in November to sail with them a bit.

Aquatic Park in San Francisco is a wonderful place to visit

As I've mentioned before, the Ocean scares me. I've done adventures at sea before and was surprised I handled it as well as I did.

But a sailboat is much different than the big motorized boat for the Shark expedition I was on. As much as I love the idea of sailing, I think it would be too unpredictable for me. Maybe someday I'll have to try it and see if my opinion changes.
