
Wanted Man Arrested in Pendleton After Violent Kidnapping, Chase, & Standoff
A man is in custody accused of kidnapping a woman on Saturday in Pendleton.

The 34-year-old suspect reportedly forced a woman into his vehicle at Walmart on SW Court Avenue at about 10:10 am. Witnesses reported what they saw to Police, gave a vehicle description, and where the car was headed.
The victim called 911 as Police were arriving at Walmart.
The woman told dispatchers that she had an emergency when the call ended. She called 911 again pleading for help reporting her boyfriend was hitting her. She was able to give dispatch an approximate location of the car when the call ended.
The woman was able to call 911 yet again and reported that her boyfriend had a hammer and she was afraid. by this time, the vehicle was approaching the I-84 213 onramp heading East.
Police tried to stop the vehicle at exit 216. The driver refused to stop and continued on the exit, leading Police on a high-speed chase, which lasted approximately 10 minutes.
The driver ditched the car in a field at the end of Marsh Hawk Lane.
The suspect fled to a barn and barricaded himself inside. Police called the man out for 15 minutes before they entered the barn. The suspect was smoking fentanyl when Officers took him into custody. Pendleton Police Officers were assisted by the Umatilla County Sheriff's Department, Oregon State Police, and the Umatilla Tribal Police.
The man was wanted out of Tillamook and Clatsop counties on outstanding warrants. The suspect is facing numerous charges of domestic violence assault, kidnapping, reckless driving, attempting to allude, and driving while suspended.
Medics were able to treat the victim at the scene.
